Post Name : Now students of 9th and 10th will be able to choose subjects of their choice
About Post : New Delhi. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given students in 9th and 10th grade the option to choose the subject. Notification to this effect has been issued by CBSE for students of class IX and X studying in CBSE affiliated schools. The current five subjects out of these 9 subjects will be given as compulsory subjects to the ninth and tenth grade students. In addition to the five compulsory subjects, the sixth subject is related to Skilled Education. Students can take the seventh subject as third language.
Art Education, Health and Physical Education and Work Experience can be taken as eighth and ninth course subjects. Eighth and ninth subjects will be internally evaluated at the school level.All subjects are group wise. Now students will be able to choose their subjects according to the group. This facility will help students to choose the main subject, optional subject and language subject.
A senior CBSE official said, students often face difficulties in choosing subjects. Students depend on their parents, senior peers or teachers to choose subjects. However, subjects are now divided into groups, so that students will be able to choose their subject easily.
Although despite having 9 subjects, the result of the students will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in the examinations of five subjects. That is, the board’s result will be released on five subjects only. These include two languages besides the five compulsory subjects. According to the board, the rest of the subject has been added to give skill based education from the 10th level itself. (Agency)
